PRAYER OF HOPE & INSPIRATION

Alternative Learning System Accreditation & Equivalency Test is held annually every month of October.  In preparation of the said A&E Test, a Prayer of Hope & Inspiration is done to help the Examinees/Test takers prepare themselves emotionally and spiritually as they take the test.

This year’s Prayer of Hope & Inspiration’s theme is “Nothing Is Impossible”.  It was held last October 12, 2013, 8am @ Church of God New Escalante.  Pastor Onie Tuanzon was the invited speaker, who happens to be the Senior Pastor of the said church. He is also the “Statistician” of the City Government of Escalante. The said event was attended by almost a hundred person, including the Church of God Council & the Church Music Team.  Learners from different CLC’s (Community Learning Centers) were gathered for  this event.  There were about 79 of them who came.

The program started with an Invocation  lead by one of the Church of God Council, maam Grace Valencia, followed by the singing of the National Anthem & the Escalante Hymn. In the absence of the ALS Division Superintendent, maam Lily G. Maratas, the crowd were warmly welcomed by maam Michelle Gequilan, one the ALS Implementers.   ALS District-I Coordinator, sir Lord Alcomendras graced the stage by giving  inspirational message for the Test takers.  He stresses “positive thinking” as a way of idealistic thinking  in taking the exam.  After that, the Church of God Praise & Worship Team took over the stage.  Songs of praises and adoration were sung to honor God.  The highlight of the said event is the preaching of the word of God by the speaker, Ptr. Onie Tuanzon.  Through his preaching, he pointed out that “with God, nothing is impossible”. He  then offered a special prayer  for the Test takers.  Another prayer is offered  by one of the Church of God Council, maam Wendy Estera Plumo, who is also a teacher in Old Poblacion National High School.

The  program ended with a snacks prepared by the ALS Implementers who were present during that day.  The snacks were from the generous heart of the newly-opened Arbee’s  Bakeshop and sir Rafael dela Pena, ALS mobile teacher.  Pictorials from different CLC followed right after some announcements and final briefings for all Test takers.
