What?
It is a paper and pencil test.
It has 2 parts (Personal
Information Sheet, FLT Proper)
Why?
It tries to measure the learner’s
literacy levels in reading, writing and computational skills.
When?
It is administered before the start
and at the end of the learning intervention.
How?
The learner is given the Functional
Literacy Test, Booklet and the Answer Sheet and expected to:
Work independently
Answer all the test items properly
Avoid staying too long in any
particular item
Avoid copying from their seatmates
The learner must first answer the
PIS.
Who?
ALS target learners who would like
to enroll in ALS programs.
Functional Literacy Test has two
parts:

Sheet (PIS)
PIS in itself is a basic literacy
test
A.
measures the examinee’s/learners ability
to write basic information about
himself/herself (items 1-9)
B.
requires the respondent/examinee to write one simple sentence about himself/herself.
Part II A
Listening
and Speaking – (6 oral responses)
It is conducted using the interview
guide to determine the listening and speaking skills of individual learners
Score of 2 points each in every
question
